What's sod cost?
Pricing for a new lawn is fairly straightforward. If we have to remove an existing lawn before rolling out new sod, that's a simple process. Or if you have an area prepped and ready, our prices reflect that kind of landscaping as well. Since we do have to measure the area, we would need to do an in-person consultation to get an accurate bid together. Feel free to call, or send us an email with the contact form below.
If you are just curious about a rough idea for a price, then you are looking around $1 per square foot for removal or and about $2 for installation. Our minimum cost for a sod installation is $1,100, and $600 for removal. So if you want to tear out and redo a lawn, you are looking at a cost of about $1,700 to start for a small yard.

Our Process
The first thing we do is have an in person consultation with you, and a walk of the property, along with full site measurements. We use a tape measure and a measuring wheel to get an accurate square foot area to know just how much material we will need.
We uses these measurements to tell us how much sod we will need, how much fertilizer, lime, and soil to bring in to amend and prepare the ground. With this information we submit to you our proposal for work.
Before we lay any sod, we need to prepare the soil first. We may need to use a heavy duty, rear-tine, tiller. With this tilling, we add in sand, compost, and clean soil to breakup our northwest clay soils. Not all lawns need a tilling, so this step is optional. We may need to add in pelletized lime to maintain a balanced and healthy soil pH. We then grade the area, removing any large debris, such as rocks and branches. From here, we roll the soil to form a flat and smooth bed with which to lay the sod. Now, we can finally lay sod. This part goes fairly quickly, with the sod laid down in a brick-like fashion, with the seams pulled tightly together. Once laid we can cut the excess and shape the lawn, roll it again to ensure a good contact with the soil, then lay down a premium starter fertilizer. Now, all it needs it water!
