Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead

Position Summary
As a Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead, you will be responsible for performing landscape duties using a company vehicle and supervising crew-member(s). Your main duties are to perform landscaping duties, complete paperwork, communicate with the owner and direct the daily work activities of crew-member(s). 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• General knowledge of landscape maintenance, irrigation systems and landscape renovation.
• Knowledge of proper horticulture practices
• Ability to run small power equipment (mower, blower, large mowing equipment, etc)
• Strong conflict resolutions skills
• Cost effective decision making

Education and Experience
Preferred

• 2+ years of landscape maintenance experience
• Supervisor experience
  

Required

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company guidelines for driver eligibility (must have a clean driving record)
  
• Fluent in English
• No criminal record

Duties

1. Assist owner in conducting morning safety meetings
2. Ensure daily safety inspection of equipment, vehicles and job sites
3. Complete daily paperwork, including but not limited to, employee time-sheets, equipment and product used
4. Perform landscape duties, including but not limited to, pruning, planting and mowing
5. Initiate repair of any malfunctioning or unsafe equipment
6. Communicate with owner on topics such as, but not limited to, crew-members, equipment issues and job related concerns
7. Conduct Daily Vehicle Inspections (DVIR) on vehicles driven that day
8. Assign daily tasks to crew-members
9. Application of chemicals and fertilizers
10. Maintain positive in-person, onsite, customer relations and interactions
11. Ensure that all safety incidents are documented and reported immediately
12. Assure that personnel adhere to all company policies
13. General housekeeping of shop, yard, and truck
14. Must maintain a state driver’s license and meet company guidelines for driver eligibility
15. Adhere to uniform and PPE guidelines (safety glasses, earmuffs, gloves, pants, etc)
16. Work safely
17. Understand and comply with all company policies
18. Regular attendance and punctual for scheduled shift
19. Perform other related duties as assigned
